About The Old School

The Old School is a massive 5-bedroom holiday home in Llansannan, North Wales. Built in 1890 as the village school, this impressive property sits on the edge of a peaceful Welsh village surrounded by rolling hills and open countryside. Perfect for large groups of up to 10 people who want space to spread out and stunning views to wake up to.

Located within walking distance of the village pub (0.1 miles), shop, post office, playing field and bowling green. The property gives you rural tranquillity with practical amenities right on your doorstep. North Wales' best coastal towns are just a short drive away - hit the beaches at Colwyn Bay, explore Conwy's medieval walls or venture into Eryri National Park for mountain adventures.

The accommodation is brilliant. Five spacious bedrooms include three with en-suites (two king-size and one super-king that converts to twins). There's also a twin room and another twin that converts to a super-king. The family bathroom has both bath and walk-in shower. Downstairs you'll find a sitting room with woodburning stove, games room with table tennis, table football and air hockey, plus a separate pool table room.

Visit Llandudno's Victorian pier (30 mins), explore historic Conwy Castle (25 mins), climb Snowdon in Eryri National Park (45 mins) or visit Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay (25 mins). Kids will love the nearby beaches while history lovers can explore ancient castles.

The accommodation was outstanding. We were celebrating our Golden wedding and the owners had taken the trouble to decorate the kitchen dining room. All the rooms were immaculate, and the bedrooms resembled a 5 star hotel! We enjoyed the hot tub and patio area, particularly in the afternoon and early evening just as the sun was going down with glass of wine! I would highly recommend Yr Hen Ysgol The Old School particular for a large group. Would love to go back!

Fab property for a group of adults sharing a double birthday celebration. The property is very spacious throughout and has a very sociable Kitchen Diner, and 5 large double bedrooms 3 ensuite and a very large family bathroom. All beautifully clean, smart and well equipped. The outside terrace is a sun trap even on cooler days. Llansannan village is delightful, and the local scenery stunning. All the delights of North Wales are only a short drive away...

Highly recommend. We had a lovely New Years break at The Old School. The property has everything we needed for an enjoyable family break away. There was plenty to keep the children entertained, as the weather was miserable we spent most of our time making use of everything the house has to offer. We had a lovely meal at The Old Stag just a short drive away on New Years Day. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful week at the old school. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and the cottage was so well equipped. We had everything we needed. The area is stunning and the locals were so welcoming. We visited the mountain zoo, the vineyard and lots of dog walks. The hot tub was lovely too. Also had a lovely meal at the old stag. Will definitely stay again.
The property was more than I ever imagined! I was so impressed, especially with how equipped the kitchen was! Everything from the DVD wall, the log burner and the hot tub really made our holiday amazing! We would 1000 go back again! The owners were so helpful throughout. The hamper on arrival was the perfect touch with teddies for the children to take home! Thank you so much for the perfect stay!

An absolutely amazing holiday. The cottage was everything and more. The attention to detail was outstanding, with everyone and everything considered. The owners communication is like nothing weve ever received and really appreciated. The only think I would say requires improvement is some extra kitchen scissors, teaspoons and chopping knives. When thinking the grand scheme of everything thats literally the only thing. Would not hesitate to return and hope anyone who books enjoys their holiday as much as our three generational family . A absolutely fantastic property. Not only is it spacious and comfortable in size. The owners have kitted it out with everything that you would need for a week away. It is also set in a beautiful quiet location, that is only a short drive from all North Wales has to offer.
Our extended family of ten had a great week away in this fantastic, spacious accommodation. We enjoyed the games rooms and hot tub as well as exploring the beautiful surrounding area. The house was well equipped, especially the kitchen and communication from the owner was good.
