Carter Ground Barn Reviews

Emma
The house was super cosy during the freezing weather, with stunning views. Spacious and spotless, we honestly had a great stay. Definitely recommend it to others!
James
Would be great if you displayed everything clearly online. No welcome pack, but I've rented lots of places and never been let down.
Jamie
The location is absolutely gorgeous, surrounded by nature, which made it perfect for a peaceful getaway. Having the dogs with us was a real bonus, especially with the secure garden. The place was spotless, warmand super comfortable. We genuinely enjoyed our stay-definitely coming back!
James
Absolutely loved the house and its setting! The views are breathtakingand we really enjoyed exploring the nearby mountain walks. We'll definitely come back. Just a quick tip-stick to the directions provided; coming from the north road via Coniston isn't the best route. Wouldn't want anyone to get lost!
James
The barn is really lovely, with comfy sofas and a well-stocked kitchen. The views are stunning, making it perfect to unwind. We had a fantastic time and definitely plan to return someday!
James
Honestly, the location is quite somethingand the house itself is really lovely. The access road is a bit tricky at first, but you get used to it quickly - totally worth it for the views! Our dogs loved the fenced garden, plenty of space for chasing balls and running around. The hot tub was a real treat; we spent quite a bit of time relaxing in it. The layout is spacious enough for 5 adults and 3 dogs, giving everyone their own bit of privacy when needed. Overall, a great stay!
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay, beautiful spot! Absolutely loved it.
James
Beautiful views, really loved it
Martin
We had a fantastic stay! The house was perfect for our family, with loads of space and comfy seating. The hot tub was such a treat after long days exploring the Lakes. The views were simply stunning and the peaceful setting made it even better. Our dogs loved the secure grounds, which meant they could run around freely. Overall, a brilliant week all round!
Emma
We had a fantastic time! The place was cosy and spotless, with everything we needed. The surrounding area is gorgeousand that local pub served up some cracking food. Would definitely come back!
Alex
We had a fantastic stay! The location is absolutely stunning and the place felt really spacious and well-equipped. The kitchen and facilities suited us perfectlyand despite some minor quirks like the water pressure, everything functioned fine. Beds definitely vary in comfort-some loved them, others weren't so keen-so that's worth noting, but overall we'd happily return. It's a great spot for groups and we really enjoyed our time here.
Emma Clarke
The house is gorgeous with lots of space, perfect for families. If you've got a little one, a travel cot might be handy. Lots of TVs, log burnersand bathrooms too!
Emma
This place was lovely - super clean, with plenty of towels and comfy bedding. The rooms are spacious but still feel cosy, especially with the wood fires. Definitely recommend it! Cheers!
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay! The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. The host was lovely, making sure we felt welcome. Definitely recommend it!

Honestly, we were pretty disappointed. The outdoor furniture was falling apartand the place wasn't very clean-especially the bedroom windows and mezzanine, which were really grimy. The hot tub hadn't been cleaned after the last guestsand it was full of grit and sand. The cleaner was still there when we arrived and stayed until nearly 5:45pm on departure day, which seemed odd since she was there at 9:25am. Plus, lots of drawers and handles were brokenand the downstairs shower was unusable. The glass tables in the living room felt dangerous. The view was amazing, but we probably wouldn't stay again. Wouldn't recommend.
Claire
We loved the stunning location, perfect for a peaceful escape. The place has a real grandeur, though it's a shame some maintenance isn't up to scratch - plastic wine glasses, low-quality towelsand bedding let it down a bit. The showers, TVsand doors could do with fixing too. It's got potential, but these little things really impact the overall vibe. Still, we enjoyed our stay!
Clara
What a smashing place in a wonderful spot in a fabulous part of the country! The views are greatand there's loads of space. The kitchen is well equippedand the bedrooms are a good size, all with en-suites. Plus, the hot tub is clean and hot! It's lovely and warm with underfloor heatingand there are fires too if you fancy that. We enjoyed great walks straight from the house, so no need to drive, plus there's a good pub not too far away.
Tom
We absolutely loved the location but have to say this property is quite dated. The beds are cheap and really uncomfortable, so if you're after a good night's sleep, we suggest looking elsewhere. The washing machine and dryer are out of orderand the bathrooms are half finished with a few showers that just don't work. There were no outside bins providedand the entrance to the property grounds looks like a landfill since the bags haven't been collected. Also, there are loose and broken tiles in the lounge. Honestly, we think it's best to book somewhere else, as this just isn't worth it!
Margaret
Absolutely stunning rural location. You never tire of the view. Great outdoor space. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and eating by the barbeque. Fabulous kitchen space. The living room was perfect. The master bedroom suite was a real wow. Loved watching the lambs in the surrounding fields. The bird life was lovely; we heard cuckoos and owls and saw woodpeckers and many small birds. Great selection of books and dvds too!
Lily
The setting is absolutely beautiful and so idyllic! It's a bit isolated, but honestly, it's worth every bit of the drive. The large enclosed garden was perfect for our three dogs to roam around in. The property is really spacious and designed brilliantly to make the most of those fantastic views over the countryside. We would definitely stay again and thoroughly enjoyed our break.
